How to choose the right dildo and harness
With the number of dildos, there is to choose from it might seem a bit overwhelming when trying to choose the right one for your harness. So, to make things a little less complicated, let us go over some basics. Most strap-on harness kits are built with either an O-ring or a hole that you slot a dildo into. Most strap-on harness kits come with at least one dildo so you can experience a strap-on without being intimidated with a possibly larger dildo or dildos with added functions such as vibrations. To choose the proper dildo that will fit into your harness, begin by measuring the inner diameter of your O-ring on the harness. If you are wanting to an O-ring or harness that will fit properly with your dildo, measure the circumference of your dildo, just above the base.
How to attach a dildo to a Harness
When inserting a dildo into a harness, it is best to start by getting everything set up prior to wearing your harness. Most harnesses come with an interchangeable O-Ring, which fits over the base end of the dildo. Start by ensuring the O-Ring is the proper size for the dildo you will be using as mentioned in the previous paragraph. If your dildo does not have a tapered end you will want to slide the O-Ring over the tip of the dildo and slide it down to the base. If your dildo has a tapered base or testicles, you will need to start from the base end by pinching the base and working it through the O-ring. Then you will attach each harness O-ring strap around each side of the O-ring, so it is firmly attached to the harness. Next, you will tighten each strap around the O-ring so that the dildo is now firmly secured to the harness.
How to use a strap-on correctly
If you are new to using a strap-on dildo it is advisable to experiment with using one. Make sure the size of dildo you use does not cause discomfort for the person receiving penetration, experiment with the speed and depth of thrusting, and try different positions to see what works best for you and your partner.
Use Lube
Lube is essential whether you are penetrating a vagina or an anus as lube not only eliminates any uncomfortable or painful friction, it also greatly increases pleasure for the one receiving the penetration. It is important to choose the right lubricant for the material your dildo is made of. To learn more on how to choose the right lubricant for your needs, check out our lube guide.
Communicate
As we all know, communication is key during sex, especially when experimenting with something new, like strap-on sex and pegging. Make sure you and your partner are clear on what you are doing and what to expect so there are no unexpected surprises. It is also a great idea for you and your partner to agree on a safe word to use when either one of you feels things are getting out of hand or are becoming painful.
